I'm hoping someone can explain the techy side of this.
First, let me admit, I'm a qvc person. *grin*
I noticed over the summer wineyes wasn't working as great with their website as usual. Say I was looking at a new shirt, well wineyes wouldn't access the color choices anymore. I thought this was a website problem, because all was fine up to this point.
Well, then I was introduced to system access. That screen reader had no problem. It could read the size and color choices, which btw, came up as buttons.
So, I began to think, maybe it was my version of wineyes. I tried the latest version on my mom's laptop with the same result. No access to the color options.
Why is this? I'm guessing something to do with the screen reader interface or something? System access works better with flash maybe? I was disappointed, I thought the latest version of wineyes would work out well with this problem.
What do you all think. Is it kind of a too bad so sad issue? Should I write GWMicro? Write the QVC web support again?
I'm not sure why, but something tells me jfw won't have a problem with the flash content. There are aspects of system access that remind me of jfw.
Anyway, I look forward to zoner feedback.
if I were you I'd get jaws. Jaws is far superior *does a victory dance*
Thank you for the suggestion, but I'd end up spending 2 to 3 times as much. I've worked with wineyes for 6 years now.
Maybe I'll download the demo of jfw for a comparison. It's been a few years since I've used it.
System access's price is so low!
yeah perhaps you should use the demo...jaws is costly but I've used it for 10 years and I haven't regreted a single moment.
I've never used Window Eyes that much. WHen I did try it out, it was 6.0. I wasn't that impressed with it, I prefer jaws. My guess is that its flash, have u ever seen how window eyes does with youtube? Pandora? If I am right, and it is flash, then you are right in saying that jaws will have no problems with the buttons.
How does jfw work better with you tube?
Wineyes can access the playing and ful screen features.
Does anyone here notice similarities between jfw and system access? If so, this is why I'm curious, what is the key they are doing differently from wineyes?
I have a question regarding JAWS and Flash.
Does anyone know why JAWS can only handle flash files through a browser?
Some flash files come as exe files, meaning they're linked to a standalone player.
Now matter which version of the Flash player you encounter (even 5 or 6) JFW can't read the part of the window where the actual content is located regardless of the nature of the content itself. Even simple text can't be read. If you have a swf file and open it through a html page or directly with your browser it is at least possible to read the content if it's not a video or something similar.
oh! jaws work good too when you want to press a button like fullscreen and play and many many more i use jaws 10 butsometime i don't know when i go some website why jaws make my computer slow when meet flash?
